ABOUT ANNA TAKAHASHI
Fantastic and eclectic, Anna's world revolves around collaborating with unique minds around the world. Her curiosity and almost selfless ability to channel the minds of her fellow creative thinkers has taken her through a journey of exploring diverse artistic expressions in the field of art direction, fashion and graphic design among many others.
In 2001, she started exhibiting illustrations in underground galleries and clubs in Tokyo. At that time, she was designing visuals and flyers for Japanese band 5050 of Avex Trax known for "Jungle P", the opening theme song for animation One Piece.
In 2009 she moved to Los Angeles to study painting at Art Center College of Design where she discovered installation art that eventually led her to pursue Art Direction and Set Design. A serendipitous encounter with two Los Angeles based film-makers led her to create her first film set "Benny" the hippie bus for a 30 minute short film Lost in a Sense for which she is Art Director (in post-production as of August 2014.)
Alongside working with film makers and photographers, Anna has been a freelance textile and print designer for Tokyo based fashion brands including one of Japan's top lingerie brands Peach John from which she also launched clothing brand JARINKO in 2013 with her creative partner & designer MINAMI. Focusing on spunky playful prints and unique casual wear it is gaining attention among dancers and young models in Japan looking for fresh, exciting and one-of-a-kind prints.
With an endless appetite for culinary curiosities, she is also the graphic designer for Italian Pizzeria & Trattoria Clusi Batusi that stands on Sawtelle Blvd, Los Angeles, one of the hottest culinary destinations in the U.S.
One thing is true; she is always hungry for new challenges, endeavoring to create lasting work.
