I'm happily announcing the release of a book I created the cover for. "The Third Wave!" is a book on the Third Wave Coffee movement on the West Coast. Namely the San Francisco / Bay Area, written by a lovely couple in Berkley. This book is in Japanese, so for non-Japanese readers, I hope you'll enjoy the book cover!
Here is the link to the book on Amazon! http://l.ta6.me/thirdwavebook
I created the paper dolls and set for a warm and crafted feel, as are the coffees of the Third Wave. If there is an artisanal coffee shop near by, please visit and enjoy a cup of coffee made with care. Maybe take your mother out for a nice warm cup. Happy Mother's Day!

I art directed this special Japanese TV show for NTV! It will feature photographer, Mika Ninagawa and model/actresses Mirei Kiritani and Emi Suzuki. They will be creating their own magazine pages to show what makes them unique and happy.

Airing May 16th, 25:23 Japan time. I am so excited!! Please watch if you can!

Born in Texas, grew up in Tokyo and in LA to rock the burlesque world. My favorite Nikita. Much love and respect to this fabulous and talented performer. The painting looking great on her blue wall!

I love work that is quick and worth the time! I really enjoyed drawing the entire day... I'm putting it out there. I'd love to do more fun (& well paid) illustration work like this!

This is what I'm looking forward to read right now: Ice Cream Headache by Jeffrey Miller. I've had the privilege of designing the cover of this book which is his 6th novella. A big thanks to Jeffrey!

Great review:
"Not since Peyton Place has there been such a merciless exposé of the American experience in all its beauty, fragility, and raw brutal ugliness. Set in the mid-60s in a small town just starting to experience the horror of the Vietnam War, each page draws us in, each scene brings us closer to the inevitable final disaster while Jeffrey Miller, ruthlessly in charge of everyone's fate, presides over our emotions as he decides who will pay the ultimate price for humanity. A literary triumph and a page turner!"
~ Boston Literary Magazine

Kindle version now available on Amazon. The actual book will be available soon!
Please check it out. Great writing.

[kloo-zee buh-too-zee] opening Saturday September 8, 2012 at 12pm!!
From logo design to branding and interior designing, as a Creative Director, I was very fortunate to be a part of this most anticipated pizza place that has birthed in one of the most exciting culinary destinations in Los Angeles, Little Osaka on Sawtelle Blvd.
I've always been the biggest lover of pizza (and I know every pizza lover feels the same way about themselves).
From after-soccer-game parties in elementary school, special birthdays to celebrating my first gallery opening, pizza was always the best friend to share special occasions with; not to mention how much it's a part of my daily diet. Seriously, I can eat pizza every single day. There's a reason why it's one of the most beloved foods in the world. It's a simple and versatile concept that can please anyone's palate.

I write this as a strict pizza lover sans bias--Clusi Batusi's pizza is exceptional. To start with, as a pizza lover, I say, what's better than being able to make your dream pizza with the most scrumptious top quality toppings? Top quality produce from the farmer's market, homemade sausage, meatballs and toppings spiced and cooked with thought. And most importantly, a light, fragrant dough that embraces all that good stuff. Chef Gargani of Clusi Batusi will be creating specialty pizzas on a weekly basis with unique toppings and combinations that are really hard to find elsewhere. Above all, the best thing for those who can't wait to eat, the kick-ass oven will be cooking the pizza at an amazing speed of approximately 1 minute.

The drinks they've selected to accompany the delectable pizzas include pure cane sugar sodas such as San Pellegrino Orange, Blood Orange, Lemon and Grapefruit, Mexican Coke, Sprecher's Root Beer and Cherry Coke, and old-time favorites like Bubble Up and Lemmy's Lemonade Soda--at least for now. Here's more to look forward to. They will have a beer and wine selection in the coming months to enhance the Clusi Batusi pizza experience.

Clusi Batusi is pure bliss for pizza lovers; if you know how much I love pizza, you know how much I mean it.
