Your food and drinks deserve artwork as good as what's inside.

A woman, Anna Takahashi, in an orange floral dress smiling in a kitchen with a bowl of chopped tomatoes and herbs on the counter.

Hi, I’m Anna

I grew up in Japan, studied in California, and somehow ended up living on an island in the middle of the Mediterranean where the tomatoes are unreasonably good and everyone has an opinion about who makes the best caponata (hello, Sicily!).

Food has been my obsession since I was seventeen — when I was sick in a hospital bed and started drawing pictures of everything I couldn't eat. That's still essentially what I do today. Except now I do it for food makers who care as deeply about what they make as I care about eating it.

I'm an illustrator and brand designer working with artisan food producers across the US, Italy, and Japan. I make packaging, labels, and visual identities that make products look as extraordinary as they actually are.

If that sounds like what your brand needs — I'd love to talk.

Creative Services

  • A wooden table with tomatoes, green olives, fresh herbs, a bag and a box of ETTO pasta. The box shows an outline of California and Mississippi.

    Packaging Design

I design packaging for food makers who care deeply about what they make, because I care about eating well. From full brand identity to multi-SKU packaging systems, I'll give your creation the look it deserves to be a part of people’s lives.

My packaging for ETTO Pastificio is now on the shelves of 30+ Whole Foods stores!

  • Two bottles of tomato juice, one with a yellow cap labeled 'Nepte' and the other with an orange cap labeled 'Major,' a bottle of olive oil, a glass of tomato juice, a halved tomato, and a notebook with a black pen on a wooden table.

    Wine and Spirits Labels

Look, I love a good glass of a good drink. That’s why I design labels for artisanal producers with big stories, with the kind of wine or spirit that deserves a label as unique as the ones who made it.

From Sicilian volcanic wines to California natural wine — I speak the language of both.

  • Illustration of a man wearing a hat, with a walking through the desert among a desert landscape with blue cacti and red flowers, and a colorful sunset sky with clouds, eagle, and mountains.

    Editorial Illustrations

Food has always been the best way to tell a story about a place, a people, a season. I've been telling those stories for Edible — the James Beard Award-winning culinary publication — and other publications for nearly a decade.

Covers, maps, features, portraits. If it involves food and a story worth telling beautifully, I'm in.

  • Colorful illustration of various fruits and vegetables surrounding the title 'Edible Kids,' a children's book about California's Central Coast.

    Children's Book Illustrations

The best children's books stay in our hearts for a lifetime. I've illustrated books for publishers in the US, Europe, and Japan — bringing characters, food, and culture to life for young readers.
